Fun Poneytail Holders to Crochet Free Pattern
MATERIALS:

Jamie brand baby yarn in any color or colors you like (I used Pink, Blue, Teal, White and Playtime Print, size E hook, elastic ponytail holders, ribbon pinwheel accents, ribbon roses or anything you wish to decorate holder with, needle and thread.

STRIP:

ROW 1: With E hook and yarn ch-2, sc 2nd ch from hook, ch-1, turn.(1 st)

ROW 2-4: Sc st, ch-1, turn.

ROW 5: 2 sc next st, ch-1, turn. (2 sts)

ROW 6: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.

ROW 7: 2 sc next 2 sts, ch-1, turn. (4 sts)

ROW 8-27: Rep row 6.

ROW 28: (Work next 2 sts tog as 1 in sc dec) twice, ch-1, turn. (2 sts)

ROW 29: Rep row 6.

ROW 30: Sc dec next 2 sts, ch-1, turn. (1 st)

ROW 31-33: Rep row 6. At the end of row 33 fasten off.

PINK PONEY TAIL HOLDER:
Make 10 of the strips in pink baby yarn. With needle and matching thread sew one end over\around elastic band. Continue until all 10 strips are sewn around the elastic band. Sew or glue ribbon roses to the free ends of the strips.

TWO COLOR PONEY TAIL HOLDER:
Make 5 strips in blue and 5 in playtime print. With needle and thread sew ea strip around elastic band. Sew or glue ribbon pinwheels to alternating strips.

PIGGYBACK PONEY TAIL HOLDER:
Make 10 strips in teal. Sew around elastic band as before. Make 10 white strips. Fold the white strips in half and sew on top of ea teal strip.

Yes, casting on the actual poney tail band is easier, but I found when I added about half of the number of crochet bands I wanted the poney tail holder began to stretch out of shape. Maybe I just pulled too much. If it works for you let me know!
