This week is a big week for free patterns from Donna's Crochet Designs.
It is a series of purses I did awhile back using thick and chunky Lion Brand Homespun yarns.
Checks is the name of this Homespun purse and you can find the pattern here. The entire purse is crochet using half double crochet and dropping/picking up colors to form the pattern. A cute rose is added to the front. You will also need purse handles, size J crochet hook and needle to take yarn. Purse is 10" X 11"
Simply Green Homespun purse features a unique yellow flower and you can find the pattern here. It is more of a shaped body purse and is 9-1/2" X 11". You will also need size J hook, purse handles and needle to take yarn.
Country Squares is basically an odds and ends kind of purse. You can find the pattern here. Where all the left over yarns are crochet into squares then edged in black to tie them all together. Some of the rows are all one color squares and some have several colors. It just depended on how many of each color I ended it up with after all my scraps have been used. It is a very forgiving design. Finished size is 10" X 11". You will also need size J hook, purse handles and needle to take yarn.
Rose Homespun purse has flowers sewn across the upper edge. The pattern can be found here. The shaped body of the purse gives its unique look. Finished size: 9-1/2" X 11". You will also need size J hook, purse handles and needle to take yarn.
Sunflower Homespun Purse features stripes in two colors of blue. You can find the pattern here. The bottom of the purse is yellow just like the petals that make up the sunflower. You will also need J hook, purse handles and needle to take yarn.
The last purse in my series is an all black purse made more dramatic with a large, multi layer flowers in its center. You can find the pattern here. It is 9-1/2" X 11". You will also need size J hook, purse handles and needle to take yarn.
Each purse is a fairly fast to make project and at an easy skill level.
Great way to extend your wardrobe.
Enjoy!
