Country Green Granny Square Rug Crochet Pattern

FRILLY GRANNY GREEN RUG

MATERIALS: 24 oz. Red Heart 4 ply yarn in Aran, 24 oz. Red Heart 4 ply yarn in frosty Green, size J hook or hook to obtain gauge, and needle to take yarn.

FINISHED SIZE: 32 1\2” X 39”

Gauge: 1 square = 6 1\2”

BASIC BLOCK:
With two strands Frosty Green yarn and J hook ch-5 sl st to form a ring.

RND 1: Ch-3, work 2 dc in ring, * ch-3, work 3 dc in ring * rep bet ** 3 times, ch-3, sl st top beg ch-3, fasten off.

RND 2: Join 2 strands Aran yarn in any ch-3 lp, ch-3, (2 dc, ch-3, 3 dc) as lp as beg ch-3, * ch-1, (3 dc, ch-3, 3 dc) next ch-3 lp * rep bet ** 3 times, ch-1, sl st top beg ch-3, fasten off.

RND 3: Join 2 strands Frost Green in any ch-3 lp, ch-3, (2 dc, ch-3, 3 dc) sa lp as beg ch-3, * ch-1, 3 dc next ch-1 sp, ch-1, (3 dc, ch-3, 3 dc) next ch-3 lp * rep bet ** 3 times, ch-1, 3 dc next ch-1 sp, ch-1, sl st top beg ch-3, fasten off.

RND 4: Join 2 strands Aran in any ch-3 lp, ch-3, (2 dc, ch-3, 3 dc) sa lp as beg ch-3, * (ch-1, 3 dc next ch-1 sp) twice, ch-1, (3 dc, ch-3, 3 dc) next ch-3 lp * rep bet ** 3 times, (ch-1, 3 dc next ch-1 sp) twice, ch-1, sl st top beg ch-3, fasten off.

RND 5: Join 2 strands Frosty Green in any ch-1 sp, ch-1, sc sa sp as beg ch-1, * sc in ea st and ch-1 sp around working (2 sc, ch-2, 2 sc) in ch-3 lp for corners, rep from * around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.

Make 30 blocks. With needle and Frosty Green yarn sew the blocks tog in 6 rows of 5 blocks ea row. Sew the rows tog to make the rug.

FRINGE:
Cut two 8” strands of Frosty Green and two of Aran. Fold strands in half and using your hook, yo center through end st of rug. Slide loose ends through lp made and pull tight. Sk a st and then rep fringe around rug.
