Skull Patch Free Crochet Pattern


SKULL PATCH FREE CROCHET PATTERN

MATERIALS:

Size 5 DMC Pearl Cotton Thread in Black and White, needle to take thread and size O (zero) crochet hook.
FINISHED SIZE: 1-3\4” X 2”

Please note: Throughout the instructions you are to carry the unused DMC thread behind sts as you work picking up and dropping the colors as indicated but not stated.

SKULL:
ROW 1: With Black and O hook ch-14, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn. (13 sts)

ROW 2-4: Black sc next 4 sts, join White, sc next 5 sts, Black sc next 4 sts, ch-1, turn.

ROW 5: Black sc next 3 sts, White sc next 7 sts, Black sc last 3 sts, ch-1, turn.

ROW 6: Black sc next 2 sts, White sc next 9 sts, Black sc last 2 sts, ch-1, turn.

ROW 7-9: Black sc next st, White sc next 11 sts, Black sc last st, ch-1, turn.

ROW 10: Black sc next 2 sts, White sc next 9 sts, Black sc last 2 sts, ch-1, turn.

ROW 11: Black sc next 3 sts, White sc next 7 sts, fasten off White, Black sc last 3 sts, ch-1, turn.

ROW 12: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.

RND 13: Sc ea st and row around working 2 sc in ea corner, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.

With needle and 1 strand of Black DMC thread make French knots for the eyes and embroider on a triangle for the nose.

USING THE PATCH:
You can sew or glue (no-sew glue) the patches to pants, shirts, hats, purses, etc. You can also make longer and turn into a belt, curtain tie back or even use 4 ply yarns to make a pillow or afghan.
